Having a child with complex medical needs requires parents to understand many systems of care. Whether it’s navigating the state agencies and programs that serve children with disabilities, working with their child’s medical teams in person or via telehealth, advocating in the school setting, finding support and connection in the community and more, it can be overwhelming.

When Laurie Sang first reached out to Encircle Families she needed support to advocate for services and therapies for her son Brendan, who has complex medical needs. “The biggest impact Encircle Families has had on our family is helping us become advocates for our child. There are so many different programs and acronyms it made it super overwhelming to a new medically complex family like us. There is no easy-to-follow booklet that parents are given when they have a child with unique needs. I am so grateful for the guidance, hope and support that Encircle Families has given our family. They have been here for our family many times already in my young son’s journey.”

Laurie was so inspired by her experience with Encircle Families that she became a volunteer Parent Leader mentoring families who are walking a similar path. “ I want all families to know that they are not alone.”

Laurie found guidance when she needed it most and now she’s paying it forward. Your donation helps make that kind of support possible for more families.
